My name is Fraser Keen, and I am a digital artist who has turned his passion into a career. From an early age, I have had roots in the development of digital art. I started in game modification (mods) for various games including Half-Life, Max Payne, Unreal Tournament, and the Source engine. Joining the different modding communities, I was able to work with a lot of very talented artists, programmers, and designers. I continued this hobby through school and well into college. After a year and a half of working on a business administration degree, I realized that it was time to take my passion and turn it into a career that I would love.
Compiling my past work into a portfolio, I applied for the digital animation program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. A few months later, I was immersed in intense learning and advancing of skills in both the traditional, and the digital arts. Learning under the wing of some of Vancouver's most talented professionals, I excelled at modeling, texturing, and lighting.
After graduation and the completion of my demo reel, I started my career as an environment generalist for Anthem Visual Effects. Once again, I thrived off the challenge and was able to learn from some very talents artists. During my contract, I worked on "Sanctuary" a popular science fiction show that had over 1.5 million viewers when it premiered in its second season. During my time at anthem, the show was nominated for an Emmy in visual effects, and won a Gemini, also for its visual effects. Sanctuary was a huge milestone in my life, and I thank the amazing artists and management at Anthem for that opportunity.
I am now looking to continue my career and create the best visual effects possible. I am eager and excited for the next challenge, and next leg of my career as an artist.
In my personal life, I enjoy skiing the local mountains, playing guitar, and dominating the ladder in many games. I am a very friendly down to earth person who enjoys working with others and sharing my passion for art.
